The Cursed Script
The Riverside Community Theater faces closure when artistic director Elena Vasquez discovers an antique trunk containing 18th-century costumes and a manuscript for “Trick for Trick,” a lost farce. Theater historian Sarah Goldstein identifies them as artifacts from London’s Theatre Royal, where Irish actor Charles Macklin killed Thomas Hallam in 1735 over a wig dispute. Despite Sarah’s warnings, Elena stages the play to save her theater.
